A Resounding Success — Boxing Without Borders Makes History in Quetta

Boxing Without Borders — Pakistan’s first-ever International Boxing Championship — marked a moment of pride and achievement for DHA Quetta, placing Quetta on the global sports map and establishing a new era for boxing in the country.

With 52 foreign boxers and officials from 14 countries and an audience of approximately 6,000 spectators, the event carried global weight, proving that Pakistan can host world-class sporting spectacles.

Organized by DHA Quetta in collaboration with the Government of Balochistan, under the umbrella of the World Boxing Association (WBA), the event uplifted the sport of boxing in Pakistan while inspiring a legacy of athletic excellence.

WBA South Asia Bolan Title Announcement & Gala Dinner

 The prestigious Gala Dinner on May 9 brought together visionaries, athletes, and dignitaries to celebrate Pakistan’s emergence on the global boxing stage. During the event, the World Boxing Association introduced WBA South Asia Bolan Title. This title was unveiled by Advisor to the WBA President Roberto Diaz, in the presence of the Governor and Chief Minister of Balochistan and representatives from Falcon Promotions, with a spectacular light and sound show adding to the grandeur. This title will provide local boxers with greater international exposure through officially sanctioned WBA bouts on home soil, nurturing homegrown talent and strengthening Pakistan’s boxing future.

The Main Event

A world-class sporting spectacle unfolded, featuring eight electrifying bouts — including two female matchups — marking a historic step forward for women’s boxing in Pakistan. Of these, three were official WBA Asia title fights.

Tarik Zaina claimed the WBA South Asia Bolan Super Lightweight Title via a 4th-round TKO.

Alex Dilmaghani won the WBA Asia Middle-East Lightweight Title by unanimous decision.

Saracho delivered a 5th-round TKO in the WBA Asia Middle-East Welterweight Title fight (title remained vacant).

The most celebrated moment came when Muhammad Waseem, DHA Quetta’s Brand Ambassador, secured a Round 9 TKO against Winston Orono, claiming the prestigious WBA Gold Bantamweight Title.

It was a national milestone — not just for Waseem or DHA Quetta, but for Pakistan — cheered by thousands in the arena and celebrated by many more across the country.

After the final bell, the night transformed into a celebration of national pride.

A star-studded concert featuring Akhtar Chanal, Natasha Baig, and Ali Zafar lit up the night with music, followed by a breathtaking fireworks display. It was a fusion of sport, art, and community spirit.
